Those contours of big partisan splits apply to pretty much everything these days. Trump would have had trouble with MAGA had he gone further. Long article in Jewish World Review about pre-strike efforts to politic with the non-intervention faction. Ceasefire helped. It doesn't take much effort to find statements from Obama, Biden and both Clintons about not allowing Iran to have nukes so the party posture here is another example of being obsessed with the Bad Orange Man to the exclusion of forming coherent policy positions.

As an addition, not only did Obama say that Iran shouldn't have a nuke but the development of the giant bombs that Trump used to take out the facilities continued throughout the Obama administration (started under Bush 2). Actions speak louder than words, especially when the actions reinforce the words.

If you'd of asked me two months ago of the wisdom of Israel bombing the heck out of Iran followed by the US bunker busting some enrichment site, I'd of thought it crazy dangerous. Once Israel had air superiority over Tehran I changed my thinking. Just goes to show I and probably most others aren't that well informed. Trump's big bombs by the time he dropped them, were low risk and not controversial, to me anyway.

Too much partisanship on most issues.

Likewise. Will change my mind again if nation building happens again but that looks unlikely now

Democrats' immediate and unqualified opposition and footdragging continues to look stupid and evil. Once again, it portrays a party that cannot celebrate ANY American success. No, there won't be any further involvement. Trump said Iran won't have nukes. Now they wont. This was not even Grenada. But from a kid cancer survivor at the SOTU to the murders of Americans by illegals to rioting and burning to every single big public issue, the "politics" of the strike once again accentuate that the Democrats give a clear image of a party that hates the USA, and the NYC primary, where a socialist jihadi was elected, underscores that point. Latest generic ballot show Rs with an EIGHT point lead (!), and last two reliable Trump polls were 54% and 56%. Until Democrats can make the public think that they actually care about the future of the nation, they are sunk.

I wasn’t against the idea of that one bombing in principle, but Trump bungled it. The Iranians moved all their uranium, and they will be right back where they were in a couple of months so nothing accomplished.

Nope. it was perfect. They won't get any nuke facilities back for a decade, if that. Having uranium is irrelevant if you can't process it safely. And most of the nuke scientists are gone, too. This was a huge W.

These are all either Trump or Trump’s minions as quoted in the national review. Trump lies, and his minions don’t dare contradict him. I need a better source than that.

But you will accept anonymous sources with an agenda? Oh, o.k.

give me a source other than Trump or someone on Trump‘s payroll. that shouldn’t be too hard. I’m willing to change my mind about this If there was some evidence it was true. It’s not impossible that Trump might do something right once.

Are you saying I need to find a Democrat to confirm? I'll look.

In the meantime, what (named) sources say the bombing was a failure?

The courageous act of Donald J Trump will never be acknowledged by those that simply hate him. Yes, perhaps the nuclear threat of Iran was not as strong said obliterated but it was certainly very effective and I ran will have a very long time if ever to get back to where it was. My prediction is that the cease-fire will not last. And hey what about Gaza and Hamas?

I was so looking forward to Ruy's take on the Mamdani win in NYC. Perhaps tomorrow. It pretty much validates everything he has been saying about the Democratic Party losing its way. I will add my 2 cents about the uselessness of the Establishment wing of the party focused only on the Bad Orange Man to the exclusion of policy. Say what you will about Mamdani, he had policy. Bad policy but something beats nothing.

"Republicans are mostly united in support of the airstrikes, Democrats are mostly united against them, and independents are split on the matter."

Here would be the result if Harris was President and did the same:

Republicans = same result

Independents = same result

Democrats = united in support

And THAT is the entire crap enchilada of Democrat existence.
